Background

The soothing qualities in lullabies have been used to calm infants of every culture since the beginning of human existence.  Soft, predictable melodies help infants organize their behaviors and regulate their stress signals.  Slow, lulling rhythms mimic a mother’s heartbeat, which was once a prominent sound for the infant.  Music also supports brain growth, resulting in the development of language skills, cognitive skills, and sensitivity for the arts.

But what about you?  Indeed, lullabies can have the same soothing effects for parents.  With all the stress involved in raising children, you deserve some rest, too!  The recordings we have selected demonstrate the very best musicianship, and will prove to be calming for you as well.

The benefits of music at an early age have been documented in the research, and we know you want the best for your infant.  That said, it’s important to note that not all lullaby recordings are created equal.  Here at A Perfect Lullaby, we have taken on the task of sifting through hundreds of lullaby CDs to find the very best for you and your baby.
